What kind of anniversary celebration video did NAFSA want and what purpose did it serve?
NAFSA wanted to celebrate their 70th Anniversary with a video to be filmed and released during their 70th International Conference and Expo. Typically the types of videos created at their annual conference are based on attendee interviews and event footage. But in this case, it was clear that few attendees would have any more than a general opinion about NAFSA’s anniversary, unless we were to encounter a member with exceptional historical knowledge of the organization. Given a history lesson doesn’t really scream “Hurray!” -we decided writing a script for the occasion was the best solution. Personalizing the NAFSA brand and it’s mission through it’s members proved to be the perfect way celebrate this momentous occasion. The video also provided a thoughtful opportunity for those who weren’t able to attend the conference to share in this celebration as proud members.

Releasing this Anniversary Celebration Video on social media channels allowed NAFSA to reach the international education community throughout their weeklong conference, validating attendees, and keeping those around the world who could not attend engaged.
